I swear, I'm not dead. I'm just really busy with school and the opera company and (failing at) NaNoWriMo, and all sorts of things! x3 I am working on writings and my photography is slowly improving, so I should have new stuffs up soon! Also, i changed my major to Film, for anyone who's interested, and I am working on pursuing a career as a director. xD I'm so excited, as I love film, and I think I'd be good at making them. Also, it's an industry that combines my loves of photography, music, and writing, all in one. Can't go wrong there. xD
Also, recent events have spurred me to passionately pursue learning Russian. If anybody has any ideas as the best way to learn the language (both spoken and written,) I'd love to hear them. I have a feeling I'll be visiting Russia very soon, so I want to learn the language as soon as possible. I'm aiming on fluency within a year. Wish me luck, yeah? x3
Besides that, the opera went absolutely amazingly, and we're starting rehearsals for Mozart's Mass in C Minor this Saturday. It is, by far, the most challenging vocal music I've come across. It's pretty much all coloratura and it's quite brutal. But it's one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard, so I'm very excited. Also, Mozart is my favorite composer, so I'm very happy about this!
I dropped my History of Math Thought course last week, as my professor refused to let me make up a test that's 20% of my grade and I wasn't getting the material, anyways. Any attempts to ask for help, even in class, were met with contempt and sarcasm, so I thought it best to withdraw. I did it before it would count against me, so my GPA is still shiny. (I hope. xD)
Also, Digital Photography is not proving to be nearly as exciting as I thought it would be. The professor, while he's a decent photographer, he lacks in the teaching department. Three of the four hours of this class are spent sitting around, hence my ability to type all this up. xD I have learned many useful things, however, and my photography is ever improving. I just wish we didn't spend so much class time monkeying around in Photoshop. I'm a bit of a purist, as far as my photography goes, and I really hate manipulating my pictures. It was good to learn how to work with RAW files, however, and that's really helped my photography.
My film class is lots of fun, though I'm one of two kids in the entire class who knows anything about film and who is willing to actually analyse and participate in class. The rest of the students are content to just watch movies. xD Personally, I absolutely love looking at what directors do with their films and coming up with all sorts of crazy theories. I've been talking to the professor about pursuing film as a career and about what classes I should be taking next semester, and I'm rather overwhelmed. All the classes seem so awesome! xD
Comp & Lit is still extremely engaging, and I have a first draft of an eight page research paper due Wednesday. I should probably start on that. xD
Aside from that, life is going swimmingly, and I can't wait to see =
Heart-felt when she visits in January! She'll be here for almost three weeks and it's going to be amazing. <3
I hope all of you (whoever actually reads these xD) are having wonderful times and your lives are all going well! I'm sorry if my responses to comments and such have been slow, but please forgive me, for I have been swamped. xD
(Also, this skin is awesome. xD)
I'll be on when I can! x3
